How to Get a Cobb County Accident Report

The short answer
Cobb County Police accident reports are usually ready 2–3 business daysafter the crash. Involved parties can pull them from the county’s Police2Citizen portal online or visit any precinct; non-involved parties pay $5 at Headquarters in Marietta. If your accident type is eligible, we’ll get it for you free.
Cobb County does things a little differently than its metro neighbors — its reports flow through the county’s own online portal rather than BuyCrash. According to Cobb County Police, reports are generally available 2–3 business days after the event.
Option 1: Online through Police2Citizen (involved parties)
If you were involved in the crash, search for your report in the county’s Police2Citizen accident catalog. You’ll need basic crash details — date, names, or the report number from the officer’s card.
Option 2: In person
Involved parties can visit any Cobb precinct or Police Headquarters; non-involved parties (who pay the $5 charge) must go to Headquarters: 545 S. Fairground Street, Marietta, GA 30060, phone (770) 499-3900. Per the county, hours are Monday 8–6, Tuesday–Thursday 8–8, and Friday 8–6, closed weekends.
Option 3: By mail
Cobb accepts written requests to Central Records at the Headquarters address above — include a copy of a valid ID and a self-addressed stamped envelope. Non-involved parties can also submit an open records request through the county’s portal.

Cobb County Police holds only the reports it wrote. Crashes inside Marietta, Smyrna, Kennesaw, Acworth, Austell, or Powder Springs belong to those city departments — check the agency name on your exchange-of-information slip and request the report there.

What if a city police department handled my Cobb crash?
Request the report from that department. Marietta, Smyrna, Kennesaw, Acworth, Austell, and Powder Springs each maintain their own records, and Smyrna reports, for example, appear under the Smyrna Police Department on BuyCrash. The agency name on the officer’s card tells you where to go.
